Nestled in 170 acres of Hertfordshire parkland, Aldwickbury Park Golf Club has always prided itself on being a most welcoming club with excellent facilities to accommodate players of all abilities.
The Park Course, at 6352 yards and par 71, was designed by former Ryder Cup player Ken Brown and Essex based course architect Martin Gillett, and first opened in 1995. The combination of mature woodland, undulating parkland, and two lakes provides an array of challenges, enhanced by stunning views over the Lea Valley.
The Park is an honest course, steering clear of blind holes and unfair random penalties, thus rewarding players for a well-played shot. The 'signature’ 18th hole requires a good tee shot, leaving a short iron over a lake to a bunker protected green, overlooked by the clubhouse terrace – what a finish!
In 2006, Aldwickbury Park became part of the Burhill Golf and Leisure group of courses and, since then, a lot of effort and money has been invested in the course and it is widely believed to be in excellent condition, with the superb greens continuing to receive special praise.
Those playing in CBL matches can be sure of a friendly welcome, a challenging round of golf and enjoyable refreshments. Players might also be interested to know that societies are welcomed any time Monday to Friday and after 12 noon at weekends. |
